GRO Team Members

Each GRO team member maintains their own website. Select their name to see the work they have done over the years and at the GRO.

I am the G in the GRO. I have been interested in astronomy and all its aspects for many years. My exploits are described in detail at my web sites which are linked through my name here. The GRO is the third major observatory I have been involved with in the past decade. This observatory is dedicated to doing some science as well as some general imaging. The principle activities are the Minor Planet Project and the personal projects carried out by the other members of the GRO team.
I have been responsible for the design of many of the mechanical, electrical, electronic and remote control systems that make the GRO a working remote controlled operation. Each member of the team has a specialty that contributes to the smooth and efficient operation of the GRO.
More recently I have setup the Greiner Solar Observatory (GSO) which operates out of the GRO building. We are lucky to have a well equipped observatory with equipment that has functioned well. Members of the team have done a steady and remarkable job of utilizing the various equipment we have. I am thankful to all on the team for the parts they have played in
making this observatory possible.

I am Dennis Roscoe and the GRO is located on my property.   I provide on-site support of the facility when needed.  My speciality is narrow band (Ha, OIII and SII) imaging of deep sky objects.  Exposure times for my work can range from  2  to 30 hours for a composite image.  I use the Hubble color palette when colorizing my images.

I am proud to be a member of the GRO team.

I am a clinical scientist by day and an amateur minor planet hunter by night. For the past ten years I have been submitting minor planet astrometry to the Minor Planet Center. As the lead contact for the Minor Planet Project I am responsible for keeping track of the submissions to the Minor Planet Center and maintaining the Minor Planet Project website. My key interests are observing celestial events, comet and minor planet photometry and astrometry.

I am Mark Hanson and honored to be a part of the GRO team. I have been interested in astrophotography since I used duct tape to attach my old film camera to the eyepiece of my first telescope. That was all she wrote, as I became addicted! You can see I have come a long way from that day. I love taking pictures of celestial objects. From our location the best deep sky imaging is done using narrow band filters. I have done many examples of that form of imaging. My latest passion is imaging the sun using the GSO. Thanks to the team for making this observatory possible. We have a top notch group.

Computer nerd by day, astronomer by night, I help keep the GRO on-line. I enjoy both minor planet astrometry with the 16" and narrowband imaging with the TMB. I have been in the hobby since I was a kid, but have stepped things up with my discovery of CCD astronomy.
